I am a contemporary, award-winning plein air painter. My work is rooted in years of rigorous, classical study and a refusal to compromise on the discipline of the craft. Every canvas is executed entirely on location, under the open sky. Where others see a pretty view, I see the deep, underlying narratives of the land. I look past the obvious to paint the deeply spiritual truths of the landscape. Grounded in this same dedication, I train students aged 10 to 18 in the rigorous traditions of the Russian Academic Method.
