Destin Clover

I create images that disrupt expectations. I like to explore the tension between the natural and the manufactured, the playful and the catastrophic, real and surreal. Using light as both subject and collaborator, I layer photography, solar printing, painting, and public intervention to transform familiar forms into visual metaphors that resist fixed meaning. Influenced by California’s landscape, street culture, and conceptual art, my work embraces chance, ambiguity, contradiction, and play. I am interested in the moment when recognition gives way to curiosity, when an ordinary object becomes mystifying, often humorous, sometimes unsettling. Rather than offering conclusions, I create spaces where viewers complete the narrative through their own memories and associations.
